John Dunne, director general of the UK Vape Industry Association (UKVIA), traveled to China to brief vape companies on the changing regulatory environment in the UK.

The UK will ban disposable vapes from April next year, and the Tobacco and vape Bill currently being passed through Parliament aims to give ministers unprecedented powers to ban flavors and decide how vapes are packaged and sold.

Speaking at the Electronics Chamber of Commerce of China (ECCC) vape Industry Committee headquarters, Dunn shared his expertise having conducted on-site compliance training for some of the world’s leading vape companies, including Elf Bar, SKE, ELUX, HQD, Hangsen, Greensound, Aspire, ICCPP, RELX, ALD, Uwell and Zinwi.

Describing the UK’s regulatory environment as “complex and dynamic”, Dunn said issues such as the protection of minors, battery recycling and environmental protection were high on the agenda of politicians, regulators and the public.

He said in a statement: “It is absolutely vital that all companies operating in the UK fully comply with all local laws and always strive to present the industry in the best possible light.

Dunn said that UKVIA will continue to work with the ECCC to help members comply with current requirements, prepare for future regulatory changes, and promote global cooperation to promote the development and prosperity of the global vape industry.
