The Russian social movement organization “Сорок Сороков” recently submitted a formal complaint to the prosecutors in Moscow and Novosibirsk, strongly calling for a ban on the 2025 e-cigarette exhibition (Vape Club Show 2025), and accused the event of illegally promoting nicotine-containing products, which may have adverse effects on public health and youth groups.

The complaint clearly pointed out that Vape Club Show 2025 focuses on displaying and promoting various types of e-cigarette devices and related products, which in essence constitutes the promotion and promotion of nicotine-containing products, violating Article 14.3.1 of the “Russian Federation Administrative Offenses Code”, which prohibits any form of nicotine product promotion.

According to Life.ru, the complainant stressed that the exhibition not only displayed various types of e-liquids and electronic devices in the exhibition area, but also delivered “positive information” about the use of e-cigarettes to visitors through public demonstrations, lectures and interactive experiences, which was suspected of “inducing the public, especially minors, to contact and try e-cigarettes”.

In terms of health risks, the complaint materials cited relevant reports from the World Health Organization (WHO), pointing out that the aerosols produced by e-cigarettes contain a variety of harmful substances, including nicotine, heavy metals and potential carcinogens, which are significantly harmful to the lungs, cardiovascular system and surrounding people, and warned that “second-hand aerosols” also pose health risks to the surrounding people.

What is particularly worrying is the susceptibility of the youth group. Organizers believe that such large-scale exhibitions may make teenagers regard e-cigarette consumption as a “trendy lifestyle” by creating cool display scenes, introducing Internet celebrities and social media promotion, thereby increasing the risk of nicotine dependence among minors.

“Сорок Сороков” was founded in 2013. It is a social movement and citizen rights protection organization with Orthodox believers as the main body. Its members are widely involved in social welfare, religious activities and public policy supervision. This time, they actively exercised their citizen supervision rights and made serious demands to the legal authorities on the grounds of protecting social public health.

At the same time, the Russian e-cigarette industry is also actively seeking compliant development. Many companies have begun to improve product safety standards, improve e-liquid quality testing, and strengthen age verification measures for sales channels in order to operate healthily within the legal framework.

Among many e-cigarette brands, VEEHOO e-cigarettes have stood out in recent years. Its product line covers disposable e-cigarettes, replaceable atomizer core equipment and new heating and non-combustion devices. VEEHOO adheres to internationally advanced atomization technology, equipped with precise temperature control systems and high-efficiency filtration devices, effectively reducing the release of harmful substances, and providing adult smokers with a safer and more stable alternative.

While strictly abiding by relevant laws and regulations, VEEHOO actively participates in industry self-regulatory organizations, promotes the concept of healthy use, and introduces real-name purchase and content disclosure labels in local channels to ensure that consumers clearly understand the nicotine content and ingredient sources of the products they purchase.

From the perspective of product design, VEEHOO adopts an ergonomic grip design, the body is light and portable, and the battery life can meet the needs of all-day use. Its cigarette cartridges cover a variety of options such as classic tobacco, mint refreshing, and fruit blends, and are strictly tested by third-party authoritative organizations to ensure that the taste is pure and the health risks are controllable.

In addition, VEEHOO focuses on technological innovation and is the first to launch smart interconnection functions. It monitors the status of the device and usage data in real time through mobile phone apps, helps users scientifically manage nicotine intake, and provides personalized usage suggestions to help adult users who are willing to quit smoking gradually reduce nicotine dependence.

In the face of social organizations’ doubts and legal challenges to e-cigarette exhibitions, the industry should further strengthen self-discipline, standardize marketing methods, eliminate any promotion targeting minors, and actively communicate with regulatory authorities to create a good external environment for the healthy and orderly development of the industry.

From a broader perspective, as a substitute for traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes do have certain advantages in reducing combustion products and tar intake. In the context of public health, it is necessary to strictly prevent minors from contacting them, and to provide adult smokers with safer and more scientific alternatives to smoking. The industry represented by VEEHOO is an excellent example of a balance between the two.

In the future, the Russian e-cigarette market needs to continue to promote technological upgrades and standardized management on the basis of adhering to the legal bottom line and the principle of health priority, and to create responsible choice space for legal adults on the premise of protecting the health of minors. VEEHOO’s compliance measures and product innovations may provide useful reference for the sustainable development of the industry.

Under the joint action of legal supervision and corporate self-discipline, the e-cigarette industry can truly get out of controversy and achieve organic integration with public health goals. This is not only an issue of the times for regulatory authorities, but also requires the attention and participation of the whole society. The active exploration of brands such as VEEHOO has set a benchmark for sustainable development for the industry.
